Travel and Accommodation

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Unfortunately there have been known instances in the past years in which scammers are collecting workshop webpage information for targeted messaging. They may email and tell you that they are organising accommodation in the area (even using the workshop name for example in order to gain credibility). If you are approached by a third party asking for booking or payment details, please ignore these messages. Speakers and participants are expected to make their own accommodation arrangements (with suggestions and offers of support below), and we are not working with any third party entity for this. Please be careful.

(Non-exhaustive) Hotel suggestions:

• Warwick conference venues (Scarman building, Radcliffe building): https://warwick.ac.uk/services/conferences/bed-and-breakfast/
  • bed and breakfast style location with a bar for other meals
  • ~10 minute walk to the location of the event
• Holiday Inn Kenilworth https://www.ihg.com/holidayinn/hotels/gb/en/kenilworth/cvtkw/hoteldetail
  • 15 minutes (+ walking) on bus number 11 towards Coventry
• The Village Hotel Coventry https://www.village-hotels.co.uk/coventry
  • 10 minutes (+ walking) on bus number 11 towards Leamington Spa (or University of Warwick)
• Hotels in Coventry city center have easy access to bus number 11 and 12X which come direct to campus
• Hotels in Kenilworth should have easy access to bus number 11
• Leamington Spa is generally a vibrant area, but with a longer commute to campus

Travel recommendations:

• Train travel options:
  • travel to Coventry train station (please do not take a train to Warwick train station, as it is actually quite a non-trivial journey from there to campus) and take bus number 11 or 12X to the university
  • travel to Leamington Spa train station, and take bus number 11, or U1 (or taxi)
• The closest airport is Birmingham International, from where there are frequent trains to Coventry. Alternatively there are frequent trains from London Euston to Coventry if arriving via London (either flying in or with the Eurostar train).
• If you are driving here, please let us know and we are happy to provide more information on parking, which does depend on your accommodation arrangements (see more information here as well).
